چکیده

Background Diastolic dysfunction (DD) is common in patients with cardiovascular disease. Current cardiac magnetic resonance techniques for assessment of DD require the acquisition of tagged imaging sequences, and complex post-processing. A new post-processing software allows for rapid strain assessment using feature tracking analysis (FT) (TomTec, Diogenes Software, Germany) based on conventional steady-state free precession (SSFP)-Cine sequences. The aim of this study was to compare tagging (TAG) with FT for assessment of diastolic function in patients with DD and healthy controls.

Comparison of feature tracking and harmonic phase imaging for strain measurement on cardiovascular magnetic resonance in pediatric cancer survivors

Background Pediatric cancer survivors after anthracycline therapy are at risk for left ventricular systolic dysfunction. Strain may be a more sensitive marker than left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). Feature tracking (FT) is a promising technique for strain measurement on cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) images, but has limited validation vs. the gold standard of harmonic phase (H...

Assessment of Subclinical Myocardial Changes in Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease: A Case-Control Study Using Speckle Tracking Echocardiography

Background: Considering the association between cardiac abnormalities and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), the present study aimed to evaluate the relationship between biopsy-proven NAFLD and functional echocardiographic parameters, including left ventricular (LV) global longitudinal strain (GLS) in asymptomatic individuals. Methods: Thirty asymptomatic patients with liver biopsy-prov...

MRI assessment of diastolic dysfunction in comparison to transthoracic echocardiography

Background Over the last decade the interest in diastolic dysfunction has grown, due to the fact that at least half of all cases of newly diagnosed heart failure patients present with preserved ejection fraction. One of the most important tasks of cardiovascular imaging is the objective assessment of left ventricular (LV) systolic and diastolic function, which is routinely performed with standa...

Evaluation of strain and strain rate parameters using two-dimensional speckle-tracking echocardiography in patients with coronary artery disease (Research Article)

The study aimed was to measure left ventricular (LV) strain using speckle tracking echocardiography (STE) for assessment of LV function. Eighty-two subjects (mean age 57±9 years) with suspected chest pain underwent two-dimensional (2D)-echocardiography before coronary angiography. Conventional echocardiographic parameters were used for the assessment of LV function. Longitudinal strain and its ...

Echocardiographic Evaluation of left Ventricular Function and Geometry in Pediatric Patients with Kidney Transplantation

Extended abstract Echocardiographic Evaluation of Left Ventricular Function and Geometry in Pediatric Patients with Kidney Transplantation Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is an important, leading cause of mortality and morbidity in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) as well as in renal transplant recipients. Cardiovascular complications become more important in children because of the i...
